UX honeycomb

Also known as: user experience honeycomb, Morville honeycomb, 7 pillars, seven pillars, seven facets of ux

Definition

Peter Morville's seven facets of a worthwhile user experience, drawn as cells: useful, usable, desirable, findable, accessible, credible — and, at the center, valuable

A checklist against the habit of equating experience with usability. Usable is one cell of seven; a thing can be perfectly usable and not worth using. Findable and credible are the two that a content site lives or dies by, and the ones a team forgets when it is looking at a screen instead of at how people arrive.

Peter Morville's honeycomb (2004): six facets of a worthwhile experience, and the one in the center they add up to.

The center cell is the argument: the other six are how a thing becomes valuable, and none of them is the goal on its own.
