Reflect
Also known as:
review, reflecting, the weekly reviewProductivityMethodologyGTD
Definition
The fourth of GTD’s five steps: looking at the whole system often enough to trust it — the calendar and next-action lists daily, everything in the weekly review — so that what is on the lists is current and what is in the head can be let go
Reflect is what keeps a system a system rather than a pile of lists. The weekly review is its scheduled form; the daily glance at the calendar and the context you are in is its habit form. The horizons of focus — runway, projects, areas, goals, vision, purpose — are what a longer reflection climbs; this site’s sidebar is laid out on them.
You can only stop thinking about something if you are sure you will see it again at the right time. Reflection is how the sureness is earned.
