Corpus

Also known as: occurring, occurrence count
Design SystemCWDS

Definition

The captured production specimens a Component Contract's anatomy is counted against — each part carries how many of them it occurs in

cwds ADR-0012: an obligation is held to an observation. required is the one field in an anatomy part that is not an observation of a source, so it is held to one instead — where a contract has a corpus, a required part must occur in it at least once. A contract with no corpus can still be authored; it cannot yet claim a part is required.

CWDS

What "38 captured pages" is for. A specimen is one page as it shipped; the corpus is the set a contract says it was counted against, pinned by the capture commit so the counts can be re-run. Provenance's production slot is the corpus speaking.

Avoid: required: true on a part the corpus has never shown; and a corpus treated as a source of truth — production is what happened, not what was decided.
