Glossary Slot kind
Slot kind
Design System
Definition
A category of position a Template offers — header, hero, rich text, footer — as distinct from an instance, which is one occurrence of it on a page
"1 of 9 slot kinds and 4 of 20 instances" counts kinds filled and occurrences filled; they are different numbers about the same template.
Introduced by the first walkthrough to make its two numbers mean something. A template with nine slot kinds and twenty instances has nine categories of place and twenty places.
