Definitions
The reusable page shell — where chrome (navigation, header, footer) and the content slot live; page- and content-agnostic
A Template is composed inside a Layout; the Layout does not know what page it is showing.
A Nuxt layout: one of the shells under app/layouts/
The same idea, in the framework's own word — the app shell, the public content shell, the marketing shell, the auth shell.
The frame a page is shown in. In a migration, "a Layout's" is the answer to "whose is the header?" — it belongs to the shell, not to the page-type Template, which is why a header shows up in a gap list as a Layout's, and there is no Layout.
