Definition
Committing one logical change per commit: complete enough to build and pass on its own, small enough to describe in one subject line, and revertible without taking anything unrelated with it
The test is the revert. If undoing a commit would also undo something unrelated, it was two commits. It keeps git bisect pointing at one cause and review about one thing. It also makes a Conventional Commits type honest, since a commit that is both a fix and a feat has no right type.
Listed in this repository's git conventions ("one logical change per commit"). A formatting pass or a rename gets its own commit, ahead of the change that needed it, so the diff that matters is not buried.
