Flowchart
Also known as:
flow chart, flow diagram, process flowEngineeringDiagrams
Definition
A diagram of a process as steps and decisions connected by arrows, the standard shapes being rectangles for steps, diamonds for decisions and ovals for start and end
The oldest of the diagram types here, its symbols standardized by ANSI in 1970. It shows one path of control. A sequence diagram shows who does what, and a state machine shows what the system can be. In Mermaid it is flowchart.
See the Mermaid guide. The UML formalization is the activity diagram.
A real one from this site: how a page's visibility is decided
(effectiveVisibility, then canViewContent, in shared/utils/content-visibility.ts).
"Gated" means one of the review-gated sections: notes, logs, areas, goals, prompts,
resources, reference, methods and principles.
